What Happens Next

Thank you for submitting a request to work with me. I am honored at the opportunity. Before I take a look at your request, I’d like to give you a brief overview of what to expect next.

I’ll review your request.

During my evaluation of your excerpt, I look for indications that your project falls within the scope of copyediting and proofreading services that I offer and that our partnering would be a good match. From time to time, I may also accept projects that need light to moderate substantive or line editing. If I feel your project is a good fit, I will send you a proposal within 2-4 business days.

If I do not have availability, I will check with the editors on my team. If one of them can bid, that editor will send you a proposal. If we do not have the availability you seek or your project is not a good match for us, we will try to refer you to another editor within our network or offer guidance on the type of editor you should look for.

Next, I’ll send you a proposal.

My proposal will offer either a flat rate or a rate range for completion of the work needed on your project. I offer convenient payment options, so you’ll be at liberty to select whichever suits you best.

Then, I send you my services agreement.

Upon accepting my proposal, you’ll receive an agreement that you should read thoroughly before signing to ensure you understand and agree with the terms.

Finally, I will send you an invoice.

After signing the agreement you’ll receive an invoice due prior to commencement of the work. If you select a payment plan, you will receive an invoice for a deposit to reserve your dates on my calendar. If you are paying in full, you will receive an invoice for payment. Until deposit or payment is received, keep in mind that your project is not yet confirmed on my calendar. Please process your payment as soon as you can to lock in your dates and to ensure that I can begin working on your project without delay. You’ll be able to submit payment through my client portal. I do not accept PayPal, CashApp, Zelle, Venmo, or Google Pay. For payment processing, I use Stripe, which accepts all major debit and credit cards from customers worldwide.

Client Portal Onboarding

You’ll also be invited to join my Client Portal. There you’ll have access to your agreement, invoices, emails, and your project documents.

If you have questions at any time, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I look forward to working with you!

Tia
