Nothing inspires creative energy and gets my heart racing in books and movies like speculative and science fiction coupled with some impeccably choreographed action. I love sci-fi and fantasy. In fact, my firm may have the only editors in our network that edit this genre. On the rare occasion that I read fiction for pleasure, it’s almost always speculative or sci-fi.
So, it was rather apropos when I was contacted by a UK publisher seeking to publish an anthology of science fiction by Black writers. I immediately agreed to support the project, serving as editor of the foreword and introduction and playing a key role in promoting the project to the Black writing community.
“Diversity in all aspects of publishing still has a long way to go, especially the presentation of Black voices.”
