Legal Editing & Proofreading
Legal proofreading is one of the most important roles on a legal professional’s team. When documents go through multiple contributors and revisions, it’s too easy for errors to slip by unnoticed. A misplaced colon, comma, or list item in a legal document, inconsistencies, or missing words can produce significant disparities in interpretation.
With so much at stake, finding qualified, high-quality legal proofreading services is essential. For lawyers, professors, and others who write, present, and publish legal documents of all kinds, my legal proofreading, editing, and formatting services offer you the three key things you need to both enhance your productivity and give you peace of mind:
- Time you do not have to painstakingly proofread or edit your own words
- Confidence that the documents you produce are error-free
- Assurance that your work will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and strictest of privacy
Legal Transcript Proofreading
I have proofed well over 15,000 pages of transcripts, discovery, briefs, and pleadings. My Legal Background
For over two decades I worked directly with law practitioners in all areas of legal specialization and firms of all sizes—most notably, Tier 1 firms in corporate, litigation, labor and employment, bankruptcy, insurance, intellectual property, real estate, transactional, class action, technology, telecommunications, banking, and finance. I’ve supported dozens of full-service international and domestic firms that have included Locke Lord, Sheppard Mullin, Mayer Brown, Winstead, Andrews & Kurth, Jenkins & Gilchrist, Johnson & Gibbs, and Mayor Day Caldwell & Keeton. I’ve worked with solo attorneys in private practice and in-house counsel at Fortune 500 and middle-market public and private companies such as NTTA, AT&T, Wal-Mart, and Mary Kay. I’ve also worked with litigation support services and court reporting agencies. I’m intimately familiar with legal terms and implications as well as the need for specific phrasing. All work submitted to me is performed by me, so you have the added benefit of being able to build a working relationship with your editor the same as you would any other valued colleague.
